EU Foreign Affairs Minister Josep Borrell has said attacks on UN peacekeepers in Lebanon “are a violation of international law and are totally unacceptable” after eight Austrian Unifil troops were injured in rocket strikes. He said the EU repeated its call “to all sides to fully uphold obligations to guarantee the safety and security of UN personnel at all times”. “The EU renews its unwavering support to Unifil’s role”, Mr Borrell added.
