Algeria circulated a draft resolution to the UN Security Council demanding the immediate and unconditional lifting of all restrictions on the access of humanitarian aid into, and its distribution throughout, the Gaza Strip. The one-page draft text seen by The National also demands “the restoration of electricity, water supply and other essential services in line with international humanitarian law and relevant resolutions of the Security Council”. It expresses grave concern over the catastrophic humanitarian situation and the latest developments in the Gaza Strip after the breaching of the ceasefire agreement.
