Algeria, France and Britain have called an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council to address what the UK called a “dire humanitarian situation” in northern Gaza. Access to basic services is worsening and UN officials report that that barely any food has entered in the last two weeks, Britain’s Foreign Secretary David Lammy said. The meeting will take place on Wednesday evening.
