Albanese tells EU’s Kallas ‘only sanctions can stop Israel’

The UN’s special rapporteur for the Palestinian territories said on Tuesday that only sanctions can stop Israel’s “genocide” in Gaza. In a post on X, Francesca Albanese also called on the EU to suspend an agreement with Israel to enable more humanitarian aid. “It is so late, Ms Kallas,” she said, addressing the EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas, who earlier said that Israel “must stop killing people at distribution points”, and that “all options remain on the table if Israel doesn’t deliver on its pledges”.
