The environmental samples collected from Peshawar city in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and Dera Bugti district in Balochistan have tested positive for wild poliovirus. According to an official at the polio laboratory of the National Institute of Health (NIH), both viruses, found in sewage samples, are similar to Afghanistan’s poliovirus.
