With their hands on centuries-old Qurans, two new state representatives were officially sworn in, making history as the first two Muslim and South Asian lawmakers to serve in the Texas Legislature. It only took about a minute for Dr. Suleman Lalani and Salman Bhojani, both Pakistani-Americans, to recite their oaths of office.
