It is reported that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has constituted an eight-member committee to look into the complaints against immorality in the internationally acclaimed Pakistani film Joyland. The federal government has banned the film ‘Joyland’, which was the South Asian nation’s official entry for the Oscars, for containing “highly objectionable material.” The film, which portrays a love affair between a man and a transgender woman, has won global recognition on film festival including Cannes earlier this year.
