A Scottish woman who was crowned Miss Great Britain celebrated alongside her mother who was one of the top-placed competitors in the over-45s category. Amy Meisak, 29, beat 37 other contestants to land the pageant title in Leicester at the end of October. At the same event, her mum Laurie, 60, finished first runner-up in the Ms Great Britain Classic competition. Laurie, the mother-of-four, said “I think after you’ve had four children or however many children you have, you kind of lose your confidence a wee bit and doing pageantry has definitely given me my confidence back in life”.
