Bangladesh recently marked its 50th Victory Day and experts expressed that it has transformed itself from an economic “basket case” into one of the world’s fastest-growing economies. Right after its creation, the newly-independent South Asian nation’s economy was in crumbles as 80% of the population was living in extreme poverty. Bangladesh currently has the world’s 37th largest economy with a GDP of over $409 billion (€362 billion). The forecasts suggest that the size of the economy could double by 2030.
