The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) was served with contempt notices by the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Sunday for failing to comply with the court’s orders regarding the minimum tax computation formula used by service sector taxpayers liable to pay minimum tax under Section 153(1)(b) of the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001.

A single bench led by Justice Shahid Jamil Khan issued the notice while hearing a petition seeking contempt proceedings against the revenue board’s chairman and two core members for failing to follow the court’s earlier order dated November 14.
