Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) launched its protest march towards Islamabad on Sunday, with Emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman warning that the campaign could escalate into a movement to oust the government if the petroleum levy is not abolished. Speaking in Karachi, he said caravans from across the country were heading to the capital, demanding relief from rising fuel costs and what he described as poor governance.
