LA PAZ: Researchers have identified a previously unknown wild cat species in Bolivia’s cloud forests, the first new living cat species formally described in more than a century. Named Leopardus tilcayo, the roughly three-pound cat belongs to the tiger cat group. Genetic analysis confirmed its distinct species status, while researchers described its light-brown fur and irregular rosette markings.
