NEW DELHI: Saima Wazed, WHO’s Southeast Asia regional director and daughter of ousted Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, resigned amid fraud investigations. The WHO said a committee had recommended her dismissal before she stepped down. Wazed had been placed on unpaid leave over allegations involving financial fraud and misrepresented academic credentials. She has denied the allegations against her.
