Türkiye’s expanding aviation network is boosting its global competitiveness and strengthening its role as a regional hub, Transport Minister Abdulkadir Uraloglu said Wednesday. Speaking in Istanbul, he highlighted Istanbul Airport as central to the country’s strategy, connecting Türkiye with hundreds of destinations worldwide. The country handled a record 247 million air passengers last year, becoming Europe’s third-largest aviation market. Uraloglu said Türkiye plans to expand its airport network further while increasing international connectivity.
