Mohammed Nassar, a displaced resident from the village of Shaqra, which is next to Israel’s “Yellow line” in southern Lebanon, returned to a shelter in Sidon with his family after Israeli airstrikes started striking his hometown around a week after the ceasefire was announced. Nassar told Al Jazeera he initially decided to return home with his family when the ceasefire was announced 10 days ago. He found his house “partially demolished,” but he insists “it was good to leave, because we are used to living in our land, whatever the situation.”
