An official from Syria’s Defence Ministry says government-affiliated forces arrived on the outskirts of the Kurdish-led city of Hasakah in the country’s northeast. Under a ceasefire signed yesterday, government forces were permitted by the SDF to enter. Syria’s Interior Ministry said on Sunday it opened investigations to verify reports of recent killings in Hasakah governate. Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa has set out measures to restore federal state authority in the country’s northeast, including Hasakah.
