There were protests and celebrations across Spain on Sunday over Maduro’s abduction by the US. Near the US embassy in Madrid, about 200 people decried Western foreign intervention. Many of those were left-wing Spaniards. Elsewhere in the city, Venezuelans were out for a second consecutive night, celebrating what they say could be a new dawn for their country. “Fascists. Terrorists. Those are the accusations these protesters are levelling at the United States,” Al Jazeera’s Camille Nedelec said of the protests near the embassy.
