Another huge gas crisis is set to hit Pakistan this winter, as Pakistan LNG Limited (PLL) failed to attract LNG trading businesses to its bidding, which was launched on September 11, 2021, and wanted eight LNG cargoes – four each for December and January.

According to The News, this means the country would be unable to import 1.2 bcfd of LNG during the high demand months of December and January.

Instead, the country will be able to import only 900 mmcfd each month, resulting in a 300 mmcfd deficit. According to the journal, the government will import 1 bicfd in November, versus a capacity of 1.2 bcfd.
