India said early Wednesday it had launched a military operation against Pakistan, hitting alleged “terrorist infrastructure” in both Pakistan and Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ&K), in a major escalation of tensions between the two neighbors. India termed it “Operation Sindoor”, launched in the aftermaths of Pahalgam attack. “Our actions have been focused, measured and non-escalatory in nature. No Pakistani military facilities have been targeted. India has demonstrated considerable restraint in selection of targets and method of execution,” Indian Ministry of Defence stated.
