US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu discussed efforts to extend the ceasefire in Gaza and threats posed by Iran during a call on Tuesday, US State Department representative Tammy Bruce said. Mr Rubio said the US’s “steadfast support for Israel is a top priority for President Trump”, and that was shown by the recent decision to expedite $4 billion in military aid. He also thanked Mr Netanyahu for his co-operation with US envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff, the State Department said.
