Russia’s top diplomat calls Trump’s Gaza resettlement plan ‘time bomb’

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov spoke [after a meeting with Qatar’s Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in Doha] about the peace settlement in Gaza. He said the possible resettlement of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip to other countries of the region, instead of implementing a two-state solution, would only set a time bomb in the process of the Palestine-Israel settlement. He said that could lead to tragic consequences because the issue of establishing a Palestinian state is a key one, and attempts to undermine the [UN] Security Council decisions and replace the creation of a Palestinian state with the resettlement of the Palestinians in the region will lead to very negative consequences.
