Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi has left Saudi Arabia, where – as we’ve been reporting, Arab leaders were meeting to discuss Gaza. The leaders of Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan participated in the informal talks. The meeting comes after US President Trump put forward a proposal for the US to “take over” Gaza and forcibly displace its residents – prompting outrage and opposition from Palestinians and countries in the region.
