Israel will release 183 Palestinian detainees from its prisons on Saturday, as part of a continuing exchange for hostages held by Hamas, under the Gaza ceasefire agreement. The number is more than double the 90 detainees that had earlier been scheduled to be freed. Of the 183 detainees, 111 are from the Gaza Strip and were arrested after October 7, 2023. Eight will be sent into exile as part of the truce terms.
