Palestinian detainee dies in Israeli custody

Palestinian detainee Mohammed Rashid Saeed Al Akka, 44, from Gaza was killed in the Israeli prison of Negev, Palestinian news agency Wafa reported. The Palestine Prisoner’s Society (PPS) and the Commission of Detainees ad Ex-Detainees Affairs announced the killing of Mr Al Akka. Thousands of detainees have been reportedly subjected to torture, starvation and sexual assaults, and the deliberate imposition of conditions that lead to infection and contagious diseases.
