Israeli jets bombed major military sites across Damascus on Tuesday morning, a day after its ground forces seized territory near the Golan Heights, expanding a long-established buffer zone. A military source in Amman said in the past 48 hours, Israeli forces have seized a zone in the Golan Heights that was established in 1974, a year after president Hafez Al Assad launched a war that failed to capture the territory. The forces occupied the city of Quneitra, which the regime did not rebuild after Israeli destroyed it in 1974, and the adjacent Baath City. Troops also advanced east and captured the town of Khan Arnabeh, 25km from the capital.
