UN special co-ordinator Tor Wennesland condemned on Sunday an Israeli air strike on Gaza’s Beit Lahiya that killed 87 people. “The nightmare in Gaza is intensifying. Horrifying scenes are unfolding in the northern strip amidst conflict, relentless Israeli strikes and an ever-worsening humanitarian crisis,” he said. Mr Wennesland also called for an end to attacks on civilians and urged that displaced Palestinians be protected.
