The Israeli army said that it was striking Hezbollah sites in southern Lebanon after approximately 65 rockets were fired from Lebanon into northern Israel. The army said that its air defence system intercepted some of the rockets, and some fell in open areas. Several projectiles fell in the area of Kiryat Shmona, igniting some fires, it said.
