Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said on Thursday that he would travel to Gaza to try to bring a ceasefire to the strip. “I, with the Palestinian leaders, have decided to travel to Gaza, and I will work with all my capacity and people to end this aggression, even if my life is at risk,” Mr Abbas told Turkey’s parliament, also attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. “The lives of leaders are not dearer than the lives of children in Gaza, or anyone in Gaza,” he said, to multiple rounds of applause from the audience.
