The Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories was illegal and brutal, the UAE’s ambassador to the UN Lana Nusseibeh said on Wednesday. Nusseibeh spoke to the International Court of Justice in The Hague as hearings into the legality of the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem, entered their third day. “We convene today while Israel’s grave violations against Palestinians persist with impunity, four months into its military operation in Gaza and following four failures by the Security Council to call for a ceasefire,” Ms Nusseibeh said.
