UN humanitarian chief Martin Griffiths warned of the rapid spread of infectious diseases in shelters in the Gaza Strip, stressing that hospitals in the strip are barely functioning. “Infectious diseases are rife and spreading fast in overcrowded shelters. Hundreds of people with war injuries are unable to receive care. Gaza is a public health disaster in the making,” Mr Griffiths wrote on X.
