United Nations compounds across Asia lowered the blue and white UN flag to half-mast at 9:30 am local time in Bangkok, Tokyo and Beijing. Staff observed a minute’s silence to honour colleagues who lost their lives in Gaza during the Israel-Hamas conflict. UNRWA has reported over 100 of its employees killed in the Gaza Strip since the war began on October 7.
