China and the UAE released a joint statement at the UN calling for an immediate ceasefire to the fighting in Gaza. The move came after the UN Security Council on Monday failed again to agree on a resolution on the monthlong Israel-Hamas war. “We call for an urgent humanitarian ceasefire,” China’s Ambassador Zhang Jun said.
