The UN’s Under Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, Martin Griffiths, released a statement on Wednesday about issuing an emergency health relief fund of $45 million for Afghanistan. “The war-torn country’s healthcare system has plunged into crisis after the Taliban took charge and healthcare workers are not paid,” he added.
