Mariupol: On Feb 8, Germany’s Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock visited the territory near the frontline of the conflict in eastern Ukraine. “It leaves me with a very heavy feeling that here, right by the beach, which should be one of the prettiest places to be in the country, you can feel what happened here years ago,” she said after seeing the ruins of a house. “From one day to the next people lost everything they had, children’s toys are still lying by the side of the road, houses are destroyed. And what used to be a holiday destination is now the visible proof that we have a war in the middle of Europe,” she added.
