The US Central Command claimed that three Houthi boats were sunk on Sunday during an attack on the Maersk Hangzhou container ship. Four Iranian-backed Houthi small boats fired weapons at the vessel, came within 20 metres of the ship and attempted to board the container early on Sunday, Centcom said on X. “The US Navy helicopters returned fire in self-defence, sinking three of the four small boats, and killing the crews. The fourth boat fled the area,” it said.
