Ali Vaez, director of the Iran Project at the International Crisis Group, says the odds of Iran surrendering completely to US demands are “near zero” as Washington piles on pressure and threatens an attack. Iran’s leaders believe “compromise under pressure doesn’t alleviate it but rather invites more”, Vaez told Al Jazeera. The United States has issued a growing list of demands concerning Iran’s nuclear programme, its missile programme and its relations with regional allies and proxies, he added.
