Death of Sea Life off Russia Peninsula ‘Caused by Algae’

Moscow, Oct 23 (AFP/APP): Blooming algae was behind a recent mass death of sea animals that saw octopuses and seals wash up on the shore off a Russian peninsula, scientists said on Friday in the final conclusion to their probe. Locals in Kamchatka, a volcanic peninsula in Russia's Far East, raised the alarm in September after the animals were found dead and surfers complained of stinging eyes.

Turkey’s Oruç Reis Seismic Vessel Sets Off for Eastern Mediterranean

ANTALYA, Oct 12 (AA/APP): Turkey’s Oruç Reis seismic research vessel left Antalya Port early Monday morning following the declaration of 10-day-long Navtex (navigational telex) in the Eastern Mediterranean. In a Twitter post, Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister Fatih Dönmez said the maintenance of Oruç Reis was concluded and it would hold seismic activities in the Eastern Mediterranean.
