London: On Sept 5, the Kremlin blamed the West for triggering the worst European gas supply crisis ever and warned the G7 that Moscow would retaliate over its plan to impose a price cap on Russian oil. Russian gas giant Gazprom (GAZP.MM) on Friday said the Nord Stream 1 pipeline, Europe’s major supply route, would remain shut as a turbine at a compressor station had an engine oil leak, sending wholesale gas prices soaring.
