Qatar’s emir held a phone call with Trump where the two “exchanged views on the most prominent developments on the regional and international scenes”, Qatar said. “Particularly the current situation in the region and international efforts aimed at de-escalation and strengthening regional security and peace,” it added. The call comes in advance of Netanyahu’s meeting with Trump at the White House and the US president’s threat to take military action against Iran.
