Nusrat Shahbaz, the wife of PML-N President and Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Shahbaz Sharif, was charged with tax evasion by a Lahore court on Friday.
Through a pleader, Muhammad Nawaz, Judge Naseem Ahmed Virk presented charges against Nusrat, who is now out of the country for clinical treatment. Previously, the court had deemed her a proclaimed guilty party due to her endless absence from the preliminary processes.
The court instructed the prosecution observers to appear at the next hearing to record their affidavits.
