The United Kingdom has approved a fifth Covid-19 vaccine, created by Novavax in the United States, that provides up to 89 percent protection against Covid disease.
It is safe as a first and second dose in adults, according to the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency.
At a factory in Teesside, millions of dosages are produced.
Independent experts on the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation, according to Health Secretary Sajid Javid, will now review its use.
