Prime Minister Imran Khan was informed on Wednesday that Pakistan has made significant progress against polio, with no cases of Wild Polio Virus (WPV1) identified in the last ten months, down from 84 cases in 2020.

In this backdrop, Prime Minister Imran Khan presided over a meeting of the National Task Force for Polio Eradication, which was briefed that Afghanistan is the main source of Wild Polio Virus, which ends up in Pakistan as a result of refugee flow.
