Justice Ayesha Malik made history in Pakistan’s judicial system on Monday when she was sworn in as the country’s first female Supreme Court judge at an oath-taking ceremony held within the Supreme Court building.

Justice Ayesha was sworn in by Chief Justice of Pakistan Gulzar Ahmed, with Justice Umar Ata Bandial, who has been nominated as Pakistan’s next top judge, and other Supreme Court judges in attendance.
