“Symbolic gestures” are not enough to end Gaza’s suffering, the head of humanitarian group Mercy Corps has said. “Those who have endured unrelenting suffering over the past two years deserve more than symbolic gestures. They need concrete action now to give them a chance to survive, rebuild their lives, and recover hope for the future,” said Mercy Corps chief executive, Tjada D’Oyen McKenna. This comes as Hamas studies a US peace proposal to end the Israel-Gaza war after almost two years.
