Immense floods in Pakistan have increased the looming threat of food crisis on Pakistan. The country is already facing food insecurity and supply chains disruption after COVID-19 pandemic. Now hunger looms as fresh crops are destroyed. On his visit in flood-hit areas in September, United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres said, “he had never seen climate carnage on such scale”.
