As the country’s COVID-19 positive rate approaches 10%, Parliamentary Secretary for National Health Services Dr Nausheen Hamid stated Tuesday that the government may opt to close schools for children under the age of 12.

The health official’s comments came a day after the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) postponed a decision on school closures, saying it needed additional data before making a judgement.
