In the current season (June-November 2021), Pakistan’s cotton production increased by 81 percent to 6.25 million bales, thanks to timely rains in the agricultural fields. The huge rise in output is assisting the textile sector in reducing input imports to meet local demand while also saving valuable foreign exchange.

Pakistan Cotton Ginners’ Association (PCGA) announced on Wednesday that the country produced 3.45 million bales in the same time last year (June-November 2020).

The average weight of a bale, according to the association, is 155kg.
