While police undertake raids to apprehend the proprietors of Pasrur Sugar Mills, Chinar Sugar Mills owner Javed Kayani, Shakar Ganj Sugar Mills owner Pervez Ahmed, General Manager (Cane) Manzoor Hussain Malik, and General Manager (Admin Hussain Malik) have all been arrested.

According to a handout given on Friday, Punjab Chief Secretary Kamran Ali Afzal stated that known criminals would be dealt with harshly. He warned that if sugar was sold for more than the stipulated price, strict action would be taken, and that no one would be allowed to sell the sweetener for more than the ex-mill rate of Rs 84.75 and the retail price of Rs 89.75 per kilogramme.
