As cases of the coronavirus rapidly mount, Austrian Chancellor Alexander Schallenberg stated Friday that he wants to implement a statewide lockdown for individuals who have not been vaccinated or recovered from it. “The goal is clear: we want to give the go-ahead for a nationwide lockdown for the unvaccinated on Sunday,” Schallenberg said at a press conference.
Upper Austria and Salzburg, which have witnessed some of the worst case rates, have already implemented the unvaccinated lockdown as of Monday.
