UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said that it was “essential” that the crisis in Sudan did not spread beyond its borders and threaten democratic transitions and peace processes in neighboring countries. “The present situation is unacceptable. A lasting ceasefire needs to take place,” Mr Guterres pressed. He said he was “very concerned” about the conflict spilling into neighboring countries.
